Re...You can either Stand before you sit, or after. Remember that your body has an 'internal' sense, like balance and vitality, and an 'external' sense: the sense of touch. So when you Stand, you get the internal sense ( often not clear in daily life) and that helps you to go within and calm/strengthen your centre. Which is what you want when you meditate. So if you do that before you sit, that helps to get you 'inside'. If you Stand at the end of your sitting, then again you strengthen your centre, but you can also move your awareness to what's around your body ( sensations in your feet, space around you) .
